Lisbon, Portugal
In my duration as Manager of Creative Services at Além International, I created a custom look and feel for an annual incentive trip for 60 “Best In Class” Yamaha Marine dealers and their guests. Inspired by Lisbon’s vibrant cultural heritage, I designed a graphic tile to capture past traditions with a modern take. The tile design conveys the coexistence of Portugal’s natural coastal surroundings with it’s historic architectural environment.
I referenced geometric shapes seen within styles of Portuguese architecture such as Colonial and Manueline. I also incorporated organic shapes found in nature, representing land and sea botanicals rich with Moorish and Flemish influence. This fusion of angular architectural lines and organic curves created a balanced design that embodies both the heritage and future of Lisbon, Portugal. Designed as a corner tile, this design transforms into a full motif when replicated and rotated to become the repeat pattern unit.
This project included digital communication such as e-vites and a registration website, a pre-event excitement package complete with a program of events, luggage tags and airline confirmations as well as on site collateral including room drop gifts, guest directories and a system of letterhead and stationery. All of these components inspired dealers to explore the culture of Lisbon, Portugal, embracing its historic roots and celebrating the modern city.
